San Diego County Party

From the San Diego County Democratic Party website:

“The San Diego County Democratic Party is the official organization for Democrats in the fifth-largest county in the U.S. With more than 730,000 members, we represent the second-largest community of Democrats in California. As the local embodiment of ‘America’s Majority Party’ for voters and candidates alike, we advance our goals through several ongoing programs….”

Central Committee: “Our Central Committee is the governing body of the County Democratic Party as defined in the California Government Code and Elections Code. It is comprised of local Democrats elected by voters in each Assembly District during Presidential Election years, as well as partisan-level Democratic elected officials and nominees. … This group conducts the County Party’s general business, approves its budget, coordinates Democratic campaign activity, and endorses candidates for local offices. … Central Committee members in the East, Metro West, North, and South Areas of the county also meet periodically in their respective regions….”

Clubs: “Our chartered Democratic clubs are in many ways the backbone of the San Diego County Democratic Party. Clubs represent active Democrats in various geographic, affinity, and demographic communities. Anyone may attend club meetings, and the option of membership is open to all registered Democrats. … Our clubs strengthen the Party by building an organization of capable and experienced leaders and volunteers. Their activities include issue advocacy, candidate forums, education, precinct organizing, voter registration, and social events. Many clubs endorse candidates and provide support to elect Democrats in San Diego County.”
